Josh Williams & Devin Heimes
Take Top Ten Spots
Two Florida racers piloted their ATP/Motoworks Suzuki LTR450s to top-ten overall finishes in the Pro-Am production class at round seven of the 2009 ITP/Moose Racing AMA ATV MX National.
Josh Williams and Devin Heimes came away from the Unadilla track in New Berlin, N.Y. with fourth and tenth overall finishes respectively in the pro-am production class. Both riders remain in contention for the class title after solid finishes this weekend.
After earning the first gate pick by posting the fastest qualifying time, Heimes pulled the entire Pro-Am production field early Sunday by grabbing the holeshot and walking away from Kawasaki’s top two riders – Joel Hetrick and Cody Gibson. All eyes were on Heimes as he continued to separate from the pack. Unfortunately, Heimes got crossed up on a table top and fell to last place. Incredibly, Heimes rebounded later in the afternoon in the second Pro-Am production moto to grab sixth out of the holeshot despite having one of the last gate picks.
Meanwhile, Williams rode smooth, consistent motos and finished in sixth and fourth to earn fourth overall in Pro-Am production for the weekend. Williams remains in contention for the class championship, as he is currently third in points. Heimes sits two spots back from Williams and is fifth in the overall points race for Pro-Am production.
Williams continues to lead the Pro-Am unlimited class with 124 points and a five-point lead over Kawasaki’s Gibson.
Neal McGrath, finished in fifth overall for the weekend in the 450A class. McGrath took the top spot in his heat race and finished first again in moto one and earned sixth place in moto two. McGrath currently sits in fifth place overall in points for the season.

FRE/KTM ATV GNCC Race Report – Rd. 9
Snowshoe, WV – In the XC-2 class, FRE/KTM rider Josh Kirkland, pulled a great start and led an impressive race to again land on the podium in the 2nd place position behind XC-2 class winner Brian Wolf. “This was a challenging race,” commented Kirkland. “There were so many different obstacles to tackle – it was tough but fun.”
Angel Atwell (photo below) took command of the Women’s class adding another win to her belt over Traci Cecco. Atwell led the majority of the race to finish 1st. Atwell only needs one more win in the next four races to clinch the championship.

Can-Am ATV Racers Take Podium And
Top Six Spots In Morning Overall
The Snowshoe GNCC race is recognized as the roughest of the 13-round GNCC championship. The ski resort backdrop provides rocky, mountainous terrain, which is a test for both rider and ATV. Can-Am was ready for the test as the first six ATVs across the morning finish line were all Can-Am ATVs, beating more than 275 other racers.
Michael Swift took the overall win, continuing his nine-for-nine win streak in the 4x4 Limited class. Jeremie Dudding, won the U2 class and took second overall. Dudding's teammate, Scott Kilby, won the 4x4 Open class and took third overall.
"It is always a great day when we can sweep a GNCC podium," says Jimmie O'Dell, Racing Manager for Can-Am ATVs at BRP. "But to see the top six spots really is a testament to the preparation and training our racers put forth week after week; the Snowshoe GNCC will reward hard work and maximum effort."
In other classes, Warnert Racing's Cliff Beasley took the 4x4 Lites win. The afternoon session saw Warnert's Chris Bithell leading the XC1 Pro class on the penultimate lap of the race, but a untimely bottleneck caused him to drop behind the leaders and finish sixth in his class.
Heading into the GNCC summer break, Swift has already clinched the 4x4 Limited championship. Can-Am is also leads the championship race in the 4x4 Open, 4x4 Lites and U2 classes.
