Amateur, Pro And UTV GNCC Rules and Classes
|

Morgantown,
W.Va. (December 18, 2009) - Racer Productions,
producers of the Can-Am Grand National Cross Country Series,
has announced the proposed rules for the 2010 GNCC tour in the
Amateur, Pro and UTV classes.
These proposed rules are tentative until December 28. This
allows the GNCC community 10 days to view the rules and allow
for a public comment period.
"As always, we take into account our racers' feedback when
crafting new rules," said Jeff Russell, GNCC Trail Boss. "We
learned a lot from our riders' meetings a few weeks ago, and
we think the new rule book will work well for everyone."
The most significant proposals involve the Pro classes.
Racer Productions has established a minimum age requirement
that will be implemented over a one-year grace period. The
2010 minimum age requirement for the XC2 classes will be 15
years old and 17 years old for the XC1 Pro classes. In 2011,
these ages will increase to 16 and 18 years old for the
respective classes.
The second proposal for bikes allows the use of 250
two-strokes in the XC2 Pro Lites Class. This change is
consistent with the AMA Amateur Racing Rulebook.
The creation of the Women Vet (30+) class allows women over
30 the chance to compete against riders of their age.
For Amateurs on both bikes and ATVs, Class Championships
will be determined by the rider's best finishes in a minimum
number of 8 events, where previously 9 were required. National
Numbers will be assigned based on overall finishes in a
minimum of 8 events, with as many as 11 events counting.
On the ATV side, there has been an addition of a Utility
Senior (40+) class. The Women's class displacement has been
capped at 450 to match XC1 and XC2 Pro-Am equipment.
There are also changes in the UTV and youth classes that
can be found when reading through the rules that are
linked.
